KrishaanAgro set out to connect farmers directly with smart farming, contract farming, soil testing and an online marketplace — a farm-to-market ecosystem. We designed and built the entire platform end-to-end, and we still run every update. Here is how a broad vision became a working product serving 12,000+ farmers across 45+ districts.

The challenge

Agri-tech sounds simple until you meet the constraints: users on entry-level phones and patchy networks, a mix of literacy levels, and several different businesses — advisory, contract farming, lab testing, commerce — that all had to live in one coherent product. A flashy app that only works on a fast connection in a metro would have failed on day one.

How we approached it

Start with one real workflow

Instead of building every module at once, we identified the workflow that delivered value fastest and shipped that first. Getting one loop working end-to-end — and into real farmers' hands — taught us more than months of planning would have.

Design for the real user, not the demo

Every screen was built for low bandwidth, clear visual hierarchy, and minimal steps. The test was never 'does it look good in a pitch' — it was 'does it work for a farmer in a field on a 3G connection'.
